Oakhurst at Kingwood Community
Oakhurst at Kingwood is one of the final villages of the Kingwood master-planned community developed by Friendswood Development Company, which opened in 1970 and has become one of Houston’s premier places to call home. Kingwood’s 15,000 wooded acres are home to approximately 65,000 residents. At completion, there will be approximately 70,000 community residents. There are over 100 clubs and organizations for the entire family to enjoy. You can do all of your day-to-day shopping, dine out or have dinner delivered to your door. There are even medical facilities located right within the community. With over 75 miles of greenbelt trails for walking, biking, and jogging, residents can enjoy the natural beauty of Oakhurst at Kingwood every day of the year.
Oakhurst at Kingwood is located within the New Caney Independent School District. Nine day-care facilities, twelve pre-schools and several private schools are also located in Kingwood to meet the developmental and educational needs of students.
Sports are an active part of the community life. Many Kingwood area youth sports teams have won national, as well as international championships. Baseball, softball, basketball, soccer, golf, swimming, gymnastics, football, and many other sports are all available to children and adults alike. Two athletic clubs and a YMCA provide residents with fitness facilities just around the corner.
If you are interested in the country club scene, Kingwood is home to one of the largest private clubs in the world. The Clubs of Kingwood have 6 championship golf courses, 26 tennis courts, 5 swimming pools, 2 pro-shops, plus plenty of fine and casual dining. Oakhurst Golf Club is a challenging 18 hole semi-private, daily-fee course.
