Quick Shortcuts for Holiday Housekeeping

Moving into a new home just in time for the holidays is a Christmas present in itself. Once everything and everyone is settled in keeping it clean for the holidays may offer more of a challenge. Whether it’s a three bedroom one story or five bedroom two story make a map of the home for quick clean ups.
Work top to bottom and back to front to save time and energy, tidying each room completely before moving on to the next. If time allows break up the cleaning through out the week, so that it’s not crammed all into one day. Keep a spray bottle of cleaning solution in high traffic areas like the kitchen and bathroom for quick clean ups.
Organize the closet with storage bins for hats, gloves, and scarves and clear, stackable storage bins for supplies like batteries, candles, and flash lights. Labeling baskets and bins will also give an added layer of organization.
These tips will keep your new home neatly kept for the holidays. For more organizational ideas visit Martha Stewart’s homepage.
