Lone Star College at Kingwood Earns Award for Campus Television

The students at Lone Star College Kingwood’s campus television station earned four Marcom Awards for four out of five entries. This is a global competition where the students put their work up against students from around the world.

The students submission received a platinum award, gold award, and two honorable mentions. The platinum award was for their entry title “Inspired”, which highlighted inspiring quotes from famous people incorporated with a video montage of the campus. The piece will be viewed by the Lone Star Board of Trustees in February.

Garrick Joubert, LSC-TV station manager said, “We were very excited about winning these awards. It serves as motivation. Once the crew learned that we won; they wanted to go out and produce new videos to enter into next year’s competition. It is gratifying to see the crew so excited. Earning the Marcom awards is validation that all of our training and hard work through years is being recognized as one of the best in the world.”

The LSC-TV station has also earned other prestigious awards including Ava, Telly, Paragon and Communicator awards.
