Montgomery County Parks and Recreation say’s the fishing on Lake Conroe is in full swing. Lake temperatures holding steady around 81 degrees and with a clear view into the slightly below pool level water, it’s easy to see why Summer 2011 fishing is expected to exceed anglers expectations!
According to the owner of Wet Hook, a guided fishing tours company, the local bass are in post spawn mode and most of the fish have now returned to the main lake around the humps, riprap, and brush and once the sun has come up around the boat docks you will find them there too. Catfish are also plentiful and can be caught in baited holes.
There has also been a report that an area fisherman caught a yellow catfish using a rod and reel, baited with a night crawler, that weighed in at a whopping 67-pounds!
So, grab you rod and cooler and head out to Lake Conroe for some of the best fishing in Houston!
