Kingwood Participates in Replant Houston

The caring hearts of Houstonians are revealed when need arises. Last year, Houston faced a severe drought. As a result, Houston Mayor Annise Parker began a campaign on Arbor Day to replant Houston.

Oftentimes the sunshine is welcomed, but last year's drought decimated thousands of acres of Houston’s greenery. This year, Kingwood is helping to plant 25,000 new trees across the city. The mayor has set a plan in action to replace all the trees that were lost, thus improving the city in many ways. In accordance with Mayor Parker’s plan she has created a two-year watering plan to ensure the new trees will last for years.

Kingwood is renowned for its trees and green spaces. Join them, create a family tradition and plant a tree. Supplies needed include gloves, a shovel, a tree, and most importantly- a strong sense of Texan pride.

Have you planted a tree this year?
