Kingwood Medical Center hosted a “Heart Healthy” seminar for the women of Kingwood. Red wine and dark chocolates were enjoyed by the community women as they toasted to Heart Month. 

Thirty proactive women attended the seminar, where Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon John Davis III, MD and Cardiologist Madaiah Revana, M.D. discussed various ways to keep hearts fit. Topics included exercising, eating a diet low in fat, enjoying indulgences such as red wine and chocolate in moderation and how heart-attack warning signs differ for women and men.

Kingwood Medical Center strives to increase awareness about heart disease in women - especially women in the Kingwood community. Interventional cardiology as well as cardiac surgery and rehabilitation are all part of a comprehensive cardiac program that Kingwood Medical Center offers to the community.
